This temple is the 176th Thevara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and the 59th sthalam located on the southern bank of the River Cauvery in Chozha Nadu. It is in close proximity to Thiruveezhimizhalai, another Paadal Petra sthalam, where the Rajagopuram of this temple can be seen if there are no obstructions. Commonly referred to as the Rahu & Kethu Temple, it is also known as “South Kalahasti.”

Sarguna Natheswarar Temple

The 180th Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam on the southern side of the river Kaveri and the 63rd sthalam of Chozha Nadu is now known as Karuveli. The place is also referred to as Sarguneswarapuram, named after Lord Shiva. In ancient times, this location was called Karuvili, and the temple was known as Kottidai. Together, the place and the temple were collectively referred to as Karuvilikottaidai.

This temple is the 220th Thevaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and the 103rd sthalam located on the southern side of the Kaveri River in Chozha Nadu. According to the Periyapuranam, Sekkizhar recounts that Thirugnanasambandar visited this temple after offering his worship to Lord Shiva at Parithinayamam.

Kozhuntheeswarar Temple

This temple is the 228th Thevaram Paadal Petra Shiva sthalam and the 111th sthalam on the south side of the Kaveri River in Chozha Nadu. During the Thevaram period, this place was known as Kottur. It was later divided into Mela Kottur and Keezh Kottur during the time of Kauruvur Thevar, who composed hymns about the Keezh Kottur temple (Maniambalam). However, Mela Kottur is recognized as the Paadal Petra sthalam.
