Deivanayaka Eswarar Temple

This place is now called Elemian Kottoor or Elimiyankottur and is the 13th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam in Thondai Nadu. During my earlier visit, a Veda Patasala was functioning at the temple entrance. Thirugnanasambandar has sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple, stating that the words in his hymns do not belong to him but to Lord Shiva himself.

This is the 4th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam in Thondai Nadu. Saint Sundarar has sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva at this temple, located in Pillayar Palayam, a part of Kanchipuram. Since there are two Paadal Petra Sthalams with a similar name, this temple is referred to as Kachi Anekadhangavadeswarar to differentiate it from the other, which is located in North India on the Himalayan hills.

This is the 49th Dev am Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and the 17th Sthalam situated on the banks of the river Kedilam, at Thirumanikuzhi near Cuddalore. The place is mentioned as "Uthavi Manikuzhi" in Thevara hymns. The temple is located on a small hill, also known as Jyothi Giri or Rathna Giri. According to the Puranas, this area was referred to as Vamanapuri, Indralokam, and Bheemasankara Kshetram.
