Uma Maheswarar Temple

This temple is the 151st Thevara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and the 34th on the southern bank of the River Kaveri in Chola Nadu. The location is known as Thirunallam, and the village is called Konerirajapuram. Locally, the temple is referred to as Natarajar Koil.

Puranic Significance :-



King Pururavas, afflicted with leprosy, visited numerous Shiva temples in search of a cure. Eventually, he arrived at this temple on the southern bank of the Cauvery River, where he was healed. In gratitude and fulfilment of his prayer, he constructed the temple's Vimana with golden coverings and instituted the celebration of Brahmotsavam during Vaikasi Visakam, as recorded in the temple's history.
