The Sri Sanjeevi Rayar Temple is located in Ayyangarkulam, an ancient village in Kanchipuram district, lies just 9 km south of Kanchipuram town. Legend ties its temple to the Ramayana era, where fragments of the Sanjeevi Parvatha (Sanjeevi Hill) fell during Sri Hanuman's journey to Sri Lanka, giving rise to Sri Sanjeevi Rayar. The temple, built by Sri Lakshmi Kumara Thathachariar (1456–1543), a renowned Vaishnavite scholar of the Vijayanagara Empire, stands as a testament to devotion and history.
