Tiruppaatrurai Adhimooleswarar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, known as Adhimooleswarar, situated in Tirupattrurai, Trichy district, Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is historically significant, with its ancient name being Tirupalathurai. It is highly revered in the 7th-century Tamil Shaiva canon, the Tevaram, composed by the Tamil Nayanar saint-poets, and is classified as a Paadal Petra Sthalam. The temple also features several inscriptions from the Chola period, highlighting its historical and cultural importance.

The Tiruppaatrurai Adhimooleswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva as Adhimooleswarar, has a rich historical and cultural significance. Originally constructed during the Pallava period, prior to the 7th century, it was rebuilt with stone during the Chola period. The temple is celebrated in the 7th-century Tamil Shaiva canon, the Tevaram, with hymns composed by the saint Thirugnanasambandar.

  1. Traditional Wear: Traditional attire such as saree, salwar kameez, or churidar is preferred. If not wearing traditional attire, opt for modest clothing that covers the shoulders and knees.
