Sage Agasthya, who journeyed south to balance the earth during Lord Shiva's wedding at Mount Kailash, installed several Lingas along his path. When he reached this location, he suffered from severe stomach pain and attempted to create a Linga with sand to appeal to Lord Shiva for relief. However, he was unable to form the Linga as desired. Believing that Lord Shiva was testing him, Agasthya gathered some nearby herbal plants, made a juice, and mixed it with the sand, successfully creating the Linga. His stomach pain immediately disappeared, and a temple was later built at this site in honor of the divine event.
